A Safe Place

A Safe Place is an organization in Lake County, IL solely dedicated to providing a wide variety of comprehensive services for victims of domestic violence, focusing on a specialized approach to domestic violence so as to better meet the unique needs of victims and their children.  A Safe Place strives to eliminate domestic violence and to lessen the impact abuse has had on adults and children through providing shelter, housing, assistance with obtaining orders of protection, and a 24-hour crisis line, all of which help to ensure physical safety and provide a safe environment for adults and children. The Safe Place also provides counseling, therapy, supervised visits and custody exchanges, education and outreach, and intervention services for abusers to learn accountability for their choices and actions.  Programs are specifically designed to encourage and support victims' efforts to regain control over their lives.
